Overview

Deliver gas at exactly the right pressure

High-pressure CBG or CNG cannot be used directly by burners, gensets or PE networks. PRS, DCU and MRS skids reduce the pressure safely and precisely, filter the gas, meter it for billing and protect everything downstream from over- or under-pressure.

Each skid is fabricated to ASME standards and PESO-approved, with active–monitor regulation, slam-shut and creep-relief protection, electronic volume correction and fully automated pressure interlocks.

Three solutions

PRS, DCU and MRS — what’s the difference?

PRS — Pressure Regulating Skid
Reduces pipeline or plant pressure to network or consumer pressure. Used for CBG grid injection and industrial supply.
DCU — Decompression Unit
Takes gas from 250 bar mobile cascades and reduces it in two stages with a water-bath heater to prevent freezing.
MRS — Metering & Regulating Station
Combines pressure regulation with custody-grade metering and EVC for billing at consumer premises.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q.Why does a DCU need a heater?
When gas expands from 250 bar, its temperature drops sharply (Joule–Thomson effect). The water-bath heater pre-heats the gas so regulators do not freeze and outlet temperature stays safe.
Q.Can CBG be injected into a CGD network through a DCU?
Yes. PNGRB guidelines allow CBG to be transported in mobile cascades and injected into PE or steel networks through a decompression skid with heating and full protection.
Q.What is active–monitor regulation?
Two regulators work in series: the active regulator controls pressure, and the monitor takes over automatically if the active one fails — so downstream pressure is never lost or exceeded.
Q.Are these skids approved?
Skids are built to ASME fabrication standards, PESO approved and compliant with PNGRB T4S requirements.
Specifications are indicative and may vary with project requirements, applicable codes and approvals. Final data is confirmed in the project datasheet.
