FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q.What is the difference between an online compressor and a booster?
An online compressor draws gas directly from the CGD pipeline at 16–21 bar and compresses it to 250 bar. A booster is used at daughter stations: it draws gas from a mobile cascade whose pressure keeps falling, and boosts it back to 250 bar so more gas can be dispensed.
Q.Can the compressor connect to our SCADA?
Yes. PLC control panels provide RS485 / Ethernet communication for SCADA integration.
Q.Which CBG compressor do I need?
It depends on your purification technology. VPSA systems deliver gas at 0.1–0.4 bar, so the HP compressor starts from near-atmospheric pressure. Membrane systems need an LP compressor before them (up to 10–12 bar) and deliver 8–12 bar gas to the HP compressor.
Q.How are the compressors made safe for hazardous areas?
Packages use flameproof motors and electrical equipment rated for Zone 1 / Zone 2 gas groups, with relief valves, trips, gas and flame detection and CO₂ flooding as applicable.
Specifications are indicative and may vary with project requirements, applicable codes and approvals. Final data is confirmed in the project datasheet.
