Commercial kitchens & small industries

LPG to CBG Conversion

Replace LPG with CBG.

Smart. Sustainable. Cost-effective. A complete small-scale CBG system — cascade trolleys plus a two-stage pressure reduction skid — that lets restaurants, hotels, canteens and small industries switch from LPG cylinders to clean, renewable Compressed Biogas.

Why switch

Why commercial kitchens are moving from LPG to CBG

CBG is purified biogas — at least 90% methane — made from agricultural and organic waste in India. It burns like natural gas, and our small cascade + PRS system brings it to sites that have no pipeline connection.

Lower operating costs
Pay for the energy you use, without the swings of commercial LPG pricing. Compare your own numbers in the calculator below.
Clean & renewable
Made from organic waste, CBG cuts emissions and supports India’s circular, waste-to-energy economy.
Safe & regulated
PESO-approved cylinders with burst disc and fusible plug, stored outside the kitchen, and a two-stage regulated supply.
Consistent supply
One working and one standby trolley — no running out mid-service, no daily cylinder changes.
How it works

From CBG plant to your burner

The cascade trolley stores CBG at 250 bar. The pressure reduction skid brings it down in two controlled stages to the pressure your appliances need.

01
CBG supply
Trolley filled at a CBG plant or mother station at 250 bar
02

The simple maths

How much CBG do I need to replace LPG?

Three steps — the same ones our calculator follows.

01
Know your LPG use
LPG (kg/day) = cylinders per day × 19 kg
Example: 4 commercial cylinders a day = 76 kg LPG/day.
02
Convert to CBG
CBG (kg/day) = LPG × 46.1 ÷ 44.9 ≈ LPG × 1.03
Example: 76 kg LPG ≈ 78 kg CBG per day for the same heat.
03
Size the trolley
Cylinders = CBG ÷ 9.4 kg usable per 50 WL
Each 50 WL cylinder holds about 10 kg at 250 bar, of which about 94% is usable.

Based on net calorific values: LPG ≈ 46.1 MJ/kg, CBG (≈95% methane) ≈ 44.9 MJ/kg. Final sizing is confirmed after a site survey.

FAQ

LPG to CBG — frequently asked questions

Q.How much CBG replaces one 19 kg LPG cylinder?
About 19.5 kg of CBG gives the same heat as one 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder (LPG ≈ 46.1 MJ/kg, CBG ≈ 44.9 MJ/kg net). That is roughly two 50 WL CBG cylinders filled at 250 bar.
Q.Can my existing LPG burners run on CBG?
CBG is mostly methane, like natural gas. Burners made for natural gas can use it directly. LPG burners need their injectors (nozzles) changed and air adjusted for natural gas before switching over. Our team checks your appliances during the site survey.
Q.What pressure does the pressure reduction skid deliver?
Our two-stage PRS reduces cascade pressure from 250 bar to about 4 bar in stage 1, and to 0.5–1 bar in stage 2. Burners that need 21–37 mbar need an additional appliance regulator after the PRS.
Q.How often will I need to refill CBG?
It depends on your consumption and trolley size. The calculator shows how long each trolley lasts and how many refills you need per month. A standby trolley keeps the kitchen running while the empty one is refilled.
Q.Is CBG safe to use in a commercial kitchen?
Yes, when installed correctly. The cascade trolley stays outside the kitchen in a ventilated area, cylinders and valves are PESO approved with a burst disc and fusible plug safety device, and the two-stage PRS supplies gas at a controlled low pressure.
Q.What is CBG?
CBG (Compressed Biogas) is biogas from organic waste that is purified to at least 90% methane (as per IS 16087) and compressed to about 250 bar. It is a renewable, cleaner-burning substitute for LPG and natural gas.
Q.Which PRS model do I need?
The PRS is sized for your peak flow, not your daily total. As a guide: PRS-02 for 1–2 burners, PRS-05 for 3–5 burners, PRS-10 for 6–10 burners and PRS-20 for 10+ burners. The calculator picks the model with a 10% design margin over your peak.
